Do you need a plan? Mediation is solution focused

A skilled mediator experienced in Florida family law can help you avoid an emotional, time-consuming, expensive trial where you may not receive a favorable outcome from a judge. Mediation can save you money and the process puts you in control of a negotiated outcome — it’s a win-win situation!  Experienced attorney Niki Marshall can act as a mediator in your dispute to help find a peaceful resolution.

What Is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary process that you can enter into at any stage during the litigation process — even before a case is filed with the court. In mediation, the goal is to resolve your issues as easily as possible.  A mediator is a neutral third party who facilitates and assists negotiations between you and the other party.  If either party is represented by an attorney, that attorney will be a part of mediation, but having an attorney is not required.  Aside from a few legal exceptions, mediation is confidential. Mediation is your chance to resolve your case in a way that works for your family.  Please contact attorney Niki Marshall with any questions you may have about mediation.

Mediation is a problem solving process in which a neutral and impartial third person acts to encourage and facilitate the resolution of a dispute. It is an informal process intended to help you reach a mutually acceptable agreement where nobody wins but everyone walks out with an acceptable plan. A skilled mediator can help you avoid an emotional, time-consuming, expensive trial where you may not receive a favorable outcome from a judge. Mediation can save you money and the process puts you in control of a negotiated outcome.

Mediation Process

After scheduling your mediation date with Niki Marshall, all parties to the mediation will receive a list of information you should bring with you to mediation.  If you are represented by an attorney, the list will come from your attorney. If you are representing yourself, Niki Marshall will send the list directly to you. The items will assist Niki Marshall in facilitating a complete, successful resolution to all of your issues.

Mediation focuses on:

  • Liabilities & Assets
  • Alimony
  • Child Support
  • Developing a Parenting Plan and allocating parental responsibilities involving:
    • Time Sharing
    • Holidays
    • School
    • Medical
    • Religion
    • Extracurricular
    • Travel
    • Other

Once in mediation, Niki Marshall will meet with all parties involved and help determine the issues and goals involved. Finally, the mediator will work to find creative ways to meet both sides’ best interests. At mediation, the decision to resolve your case rests in your hands, not in the hands of a judge.
